Allie Ordziejewski is a clinical mental health counselor and a 2021 graduate from Valparaiso University’s Master’s of Clinical Mental Health Counseling, located in Valparaiso, Indiana. Allie has successfully completed the National Counselors Exam through the National Board of Certified Counselors and is in the process of obtaining a Licensed Mental Health Counselor-Associates (LMHC-A) license through the state of Indiana. Allie has joined Childthrive to continue her desire of working with children, particularly within the context of the parent-child relationship.
Over the past 5 years, prior to earning a master’s of clinical mental health counseling, Allie has developed her expertise in the application of behavior management principles working in the role of a registered behavior technician. Within this position, she provided applied behavioral analysis (ABA), a scientifically proven intervention for children diagnosed with autism and behavioral challenges. Through her experiences as a registered behavior technician and her training to become a clinical mental health counselor, Allie began to view the treatment of children through the context of the parent-child relationship, as parents can be empowered to shape and reinforce a child’s desired behaviors and social-emotional development.
Through her broad-range of clinical experiences, Allie has maintained the use of behavior management principles, while integrating concepts related parent-child attachment and dynamics and cognitive therapies into her clinical work. At Childthrive, Allie is currently implementing parent management training (PMT) to increase child/adolescent and parent functioning, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to identify and reframe unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns into more healthful coping patterns.
She provides individual counseling to children, adolescents, and families in the following areas:
- Anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges.
- Parent training.
- Behavior challenges.
